A two-night offsite

What Wednesday to Friday looks like.

Midweek is when the village is quietest and cheapest, and when a team actually gets work done. This is the shape most groups will land on; change all of it.

Wed 3 pmArrive. Keys, cabins, the lane walked once so nobody gets lost after dark.
Wed 5 pmSaunas lit. First round of heat and cold before anyone opens a laptop.
Wed 7 pmDinner at the long table. One conversation, not six.
Thu 9 amSession in the hall until noon. Coffee that keeps coming.
Thu 1 pmHawksbill. The summit trail is short and steep and the view is the whole valley.
Thu 5 pmHeat, cold, rest. Then the fire terrace.

Food, a chef and anything you want brought in are on top. Third and fourth nights are priced per night. Weekends and October cost more; January costs less, on purpose.

Who it suits

Teams, families, and the workshop you keep meaning to run.

A leadership team of twelve who need two days without a lobby bar. A family of thirty for a reunion where the cousins get their own cabin. A yoga or breathwork teacher with eighteen students and nine saunas. A wedding party the weekend before, not the wedding itself.

What it is not: a conference centre. There is one hall, one table and no breakout rooms with carpet tiles. If you need sixty people and a projector in every room, Lydia Mountain Lodge, down the valley, does that well.

How this compares. Getaway Shenandoah has 45 tiny one-room cabins for full buyouts but no hall to gather in. Glen Gordon Manor is an eleven-room inn built for executive groups of up to twenty. Lydia Mountain Lodge has fifty cabins and a real lodge for larger groups. Shenandoah Woods does lodges and weddings on 200 acres. None of them puts a private sauna, tub and cold plunge at every door, or sits a whole team of thirty-six at one table. And the market says groups already come: Luray's scarcest listings are its largest, nine homes with six or more bedrooms, booked at about $637 a night and earning three times a two-bedroom cabin. There is demand for a place built for thirty. There is no place built for thirty.
