What we collect
- Founding list. Your email address, and the page you signed up from, the referring site, and the campaign tag in the link you used (so we know which ad or post brought you). We also keep the date and time and your browser's user-agent string.
- Retreat inquiries. The same, plus whatever you type into the form: company or family name, group size, dates, and your note.
- Email you send us. Whatever you put in it. hello@hyttehollow.com forwards to a mailbox we control.
- Payments. When the Founding Circle opens, payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Stripe's handling of your data is described in Stripe's own privacy policy. We receive your name, email, the amount, and the last four digits of the card.
- Site analytics and advertising. If we run advertising on Meta or Google, their pixels may set cookies on this site to measure whether an ad led to a signup. You can block these with your browser's cookie settings and the site works exactly the same.
What we use it for
- To email you when the Founding Circle opens, when the founding release opens, and when the journal has a new entry. Roughly one email a week at most during the build; you can unsubscribe from every email with one click.
- To answer a retreat inquiry.
- To fulfil a membership or a booking you have paid for, and to refund it where our terms say so.
- To measure which pages, posts and ads bring people here, so we spend the small marketing budget on what works.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your information to anyone.
- We do not send you anything on behalf of other businesses.
- We do not use your data to train AI models, and we do not share it with data brokers.
Who can see it
Henrik Telle and any staff or contractors who help run Hytte Hollow, bound by this policy. Service providers who process it for us: our web host (Hetzner, servers in the United States and Germany), Google Workspace and Gmail for email, Stripe for payments, and Meta or Google if we run ads. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Founding list and inquiry records: until you ask us to delete them or until the project is wound up, whichever comes first. Payment records: seven years, because tax law requires it.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from any email using the link at the bottom of it.
- Write to hello@hyttehollow.com to see what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. We answer within 30 days. Residents of California, Virginia and the European Economic Area have specific rights under their local laws; we honour them for everyone.
- Block cookies in your browser; nothing on the site depends on them.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Security
The site runs over HTTPS. Signup records are stored on a server we control, not on a third-party marketing platform. Payments are handled by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the journal and by email. The effective date at the top is the version you are reading.
